Jeremy Brock is a multi-BAFTA award winning English playwright and screenwriter whose credits include Mrs Brown, The Last King of Scotland, Charlotte Gray and Brideshead Revisited. Plays include The Blackest Black (Hampstead Theatre) and Mary Barton (Chichester Festival Theatre). We feel that both the tone of Jeremy’s work and his deep experience of cinematic storytelling are uniquely fitted to the themes and ideas we hope to convey through this production – historically significant, yet alive and inspiring today.
“Soldier Of Orange is a glorious example of incredible storytelling lit up by beautiful songs and a production that breaks every rule of staging to magnificent effect. Its narrative is set in World War Two, yet its themes of love, betrayal and self-sacrifice are universal. Nothing you’ve ever seen will quite prepare you for this sweeping, all-embracing experience, but like all great stories, it’s the human truths at its core that make is so unforgettable.”
